Phoenix Singers chosen for BBC Choral Ambition 2010
The BBC Performing Arts Fund in association with Making Music launched a funding scheme for choirs and other singing groups in September 2009.
The fund is for adult or youth choirs (excluding those funded by Local Authorities) of any genre. From the 350 applications that were received, a total of £200,000 has been awarded to 98 choirs - with a total of almost 6,000 choir members between them.
We are pleased to announce that we have been successful and will now be able to work with Barry Russell who will compose a piece for us perform at All Saints' Church, Leek, Staffordshire on July 17th 2010.
This will be a piece for Adult four part choir, children's choir and a specially formed contribution from Westwood College, Leek.
